OUR MISSION
The Other Israel Film Festival, founded in 2007, takes an in-depth look into the complexity of Israeli and Palestinian societies. Through films, panels, and events, Other Israel spotlights human stories that explore the relationship between history, culture, and identity and highlights crucial topics that benefit from thoughtful consideration.
Based at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and generously supported by Carole Zabar, the festival provides a platform for important conversations and creates a healthy space for discourse. In partnership with Israeli and American organizations, the festival aims to engage the community thoughtfully.
The Other Israel Film Festival is more important than ever. At a time of escalating conflicts in Israel, both internally and externally, and a growing divide in the Jewish community both in the US and in Israel, we are proud to take a nuanced look into some of the tough topics of the region, taking us beyond the headlines, creating a space for complicated conversations and explorations.
